2018 Dance Music Awards South Africa Winners Announced

The winners of the second annual Dance Music Awards South Africa #DMASA were recently announced at a ceremony which was held in Boksburg, South Africa. The honouree dinner was hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni and attended by nominees, media and industry players.

South African House Music fans were given an opportunity to nominate their favourite House Musicians, House Music Venues and Events. Then the fans were spoilt for choice as they casted their votes online across 20 House Music Categories. The online votes were then counted up by an independent auditing company and the winners were announced live at the dinner as well as online.

South Africa’s biggest house music export ‘Black Coffee’ walked away with two awards for Best International DJ and Best International Producer, while  ‘Lady Zamar’, ‘Black Motion’, ‘Lady Sakhe’ won in their categories for the second time in a row. ‘House Afrika Records’ won the Record Label again while ‘Metro FM’s Urban Beat’ won the Best Dance Radio Show award. ‘Dj Ganyani‘  was award ‘The Pioneers Of Dance Award’ which is an award which recognises the contribution made towards house music by the legendary  ‘Dj Ganyani’.
