“Afrocentric Records” welcomes an exciting new talent for his debut release. “Kates Le Cafe” hails from “KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa” which seems to be a hotbed for production talent being the home of “Kususa, Enoo Napa, Dj Merlon, Argento Dust” and Afrocentric Recording artist “Durban Roots and Cyberkiing”.
He blesses us on his first of a planned trilogy of release with a 2 tracker. The lead track “Tarzan” is a driving floor filler strictly for the dancers, with its imperious bongos, subtle acid style synth stabs , haunting strings and ghostly keys and if that wasn’t enough a dual breakdown which will send the dance floor in to a frenzy. Mix all this together and you have a straight up club banger. “Gemini” shows Kates Le Cafe versatility as it takes you in to deep afro territory, with a simple key structure which gets darker and deeper on this journey style track .
