“Rootical Deep” was born and grew up in Alexander, Gauteng, a Township just outside of Johannesburg, South Africa. Deejaying was always a hobby of his throughout school and adolescence but it wasn’t until he started playing at school proms, events and casual parties that this hobby quickly turned into a deep passion and unyielding ambition.

Rootical moved to the Middle East in 2009 and has since become a rising star within the growing House music scene. Always staying true to his roots and passion, Rootical has evolved into a soulful and musically conscious DJ/Producer releasing his first ever EP, “Scattered Roots”, on Sira Recordings.

Currently one of the resident DJs for “Afrocentric”, the UAE’s only dedicated monthly Afro House Night, Rootical takes the dancefloor on a journey back to his roots dropping in classics from the likes of legendary “Fela Kuti” and mixing in new school favourites from “Oskido, Boddhi Satva, Zebee, Mi Casa, DJ Fudge & Hallex” and more.

With his musical heroes ranging from “Roy Davis Jnr, Little Louis Vega, Erykah Badu, Vinny Da Vinci and Black Coffee” and having played with some true pioneers in the Afro House music scene – “Ralf Gum, Steve Paradise, Da Capo, Mobi Dixon, Monique Bingham and Cory Centric” , Rootical Deep is a true musician.
