As the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic spread at a rapid rate across the globe. Dance music events, clubs, gigs, shows and festivals have all been negatively affected by either cancellations or postponements. Deejays across the globe have taken to the World Wide Web (internet) to host virtual gigs or shows. These includes the likes of world renowned Defected Records, Blackcoffee, Shimza, PH and many more.
In total these virtual shows have attracted millions of live streams from dance music fans with Shimza and PH hosting their debut Quarantine Online Party on the 21st of March 2020 and attracting well over 900 000 Facebook and Twitter viewers. Featured on the decks for the Quarantine Online Party were the likes of Darque, Maphorisa, Kabza De Small, Zinhle, Black Motion, Shimza and PH.
Following the success of the Quarantine Online Party, Shimza and PH are going bigger with their second virtual show which is the Lockdown House Party. Having secured support from Hunter’s Cider and Channel O, the Lockdown House Party will be viewed through DSTV every Fridays and Saturdays from 6pm to midnight. Shimza and PH promise to bring along the finest dj line up in Mzansi to keep us entertained through these difficult times. Lockdown House Party will keep us all entertained as we stay safe in the comfort of own homes and it is worth checking out.
