The annual Dance Music Awards South Africa (#DMASA) returns later this year for its third instalment. With the nomination stage of the #DMASA closed, the public can now cast their votes through 21 exciting award categories for the #DMASA. Top 5 Nominees within the 21 categories of the #DMASA have been announced and it is up to us the public to now place our votes for our favorites.
Voting for the #DMASA officially opened on the 02nd of September and closes on the 29TH of September. Just as the public did within the Nomination Stage, voting will be done through the #DMASA Website. #DMASA winners will be announced on the 3RD of October. The winners will then be invited to a private honorary dinner to collect their actual physical awards in early October.

#DMASA received a record breaking public participation throughout the Nomination Stage of this year’s award ceremony. With Kususa receiving a staggering 4 Nominations and these include Best Producer, Compilation Of The Year, Remix Of The Year And Best Underground Record Of The Year. Sculptured Music also received the much appreciated nod from the public as he also received 4 Nominations and they include Best Producer, Best House Record Of The Year, Best Underground Record Of The Year And Remix Of The Year.

Other nominations include legendary musicians such as BlackCoffee, Atjazz, Lars behrenroth, Black Motion, Dj Fresh, Dj Zinhle, Shimza, Kid Fonque, Prince Kaybee, Da Capo, Ralf Gum, Louie Vega and so on. These nominations are also mixed by an exciting list of nominees which include new comers such as Portia Luma, Dj Soso, De Mthuda, Bantu Elements, Simmy and so on.
#DMASA hopes to stimulate dialogue and create a forum for songwriters, performers and dance music musicians. Through this exchange the #DMASA hopes to draw attention to the artists/DJ’s and ideas at work in the dance music industry and promote greater participation and recognition for South African dance music abroad. #DMASA presents an opportunity for music enthusiasts from around the country to celebrate their favourite DJs and artists by voting for them as a potential category winners.
