Neo Matlou is unquestionably one of South Africa’s brightest up-coming musical talents. “LadyNez” as she is known hails from the small village in the North West called Madidi in South Africa. The 27 year old female disc jockey is a passionate producer, dancer, promoter, actress and model. She fell in love with music at an early age and therefore decided to follow her dream as a DJ which led her to a path that led her to Fuse Academy which is founded and run by “Dj Zinhle”.
“LadyNez” recently got featured in music videos such as the likes of Naughty Dance by “Dj Fortee”, Mamelody by “Junior Taurus” and Last Nombolo by legendary Kwaito group “Alaska”. She has also worked with “Regalo Joints, Devine Brothers, TekniQ and Dj Fortee” when she was still part House of House on Tshwane FM’s every Saturday. She has also been a mix DJ at TUT FM where she worked with Sbu Ndengese and Admire on the show.
Her TV appearances include being an extra on Mzansi Magic’s Greed and Desire. She also appeared on popular SABC shows such as Isidingo, Muvhango and Skeem Sam. These appearances also gave her the opportunity to be part of a theatre production called Size my Son. LadyNez has appeared on a number of DJ competitions such as 1’s and 2’s which was broadcast on SABC 1. She also took part in the Red Square DJ Knockout, the Spring Fiesta DJ Competition and was also part of the YFM Female DJ Competition.
Prior to being a DJ, she was a member in 2 groups called Ghetto Revolution and JR Dance Academy but had to leave the groups in order to pave her own path. She later went on to work as a promoter for Provantage Media Group and is a former brand ambassador for Lenyora Genuine Streetwear.
Apart from working with Miss P who is signed under “Black Motions” management company, Spirit Motion, LadyNez is also working on releasing her debut single where she features Mpumalanga’s very own KayKay DaPrince. Neo Matlou has always been in love with music and that is why she decided to go learn about production from Being Kai 1 and that helped her harness her production skills.
