Masaladi 'Biography'

‘Mondli “Masaladi” Zakwe’ was Born in a small town called Ulundi in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. He grew up in Nquthu. The DeepHouse DJ/Producer is also an Award winning Dj as he won “Best New House Artist” in Mzansi Kwaito & House Awards Artist and also won Best Collaboration at Ulundi Entertainment Awards 2017. The deep house dj has not only performed with some of the country’s most talented musicians but currently work closely with them as his past project features ‘Vincent Bones’ (SA Idols winner ) and currently working with hip hop star ‘PdotO, Mthandazo Gatya and Clint C Music’ (CapeTown).

Masalad’s music career officially kicked off in 2014 when he produced a song which won a competition known as ‘Euphonik Drop Zone’ where he was voted as the best up and coming artist in Africa based on a song he did with Shenise.“I’ve always had an interest in music but it was only until my first song with Shenise Pillay that I discovered just how passionate I am about music and decided to pursue it seriously,” says Masaladi.

The dj is currently producing for a lot of well-known and upcoming artists in and outside South Africa, including PdotO, Zolile “Mental” Dlamini a talented Hip Hop artist from Durban, Shenise Pillay ,FlameSquad (Zambia), Ricardo May (Cape Town) ,Ricardo Dyson (Cape Town).

Influenced by the likes of ‘BlackCoffee, Dr Duda, Dj Sox and Bucie’, Masaladi Music’s days are spent researching and perfecting his production skills. Their zest for life, noticeable passion and musical understanding serve as a reminder that his big break is on the horizon.
