The most loved and highly anticipated, 3rd annual Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards is moving to the East Rand and will be held at Carnival City on the 24th of November 2018. MKHMA, as they are known, will be hosting these awards to not only celebrate and honour musicians who have contributed to the growth of the Kwaito and House genres in South Africa, but also to develop and grow the upcoming talent we have.
Four categories have been added in 2018, including the popular Gqom genre which is a fusion of the Kwaito and House genres. Apart from the nominated musicians, radio personalities could also bag themselves the coveted award at the 3rd annual Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards.
The awards were launched in 2015 at Maslow Hotel in Sandton by Founder and CEO, Perfecta “PK” Khumalo. In 2016 and 2017, the awards took place at a lavish venue in Walter Sisulu Square in Soweto. The official hashtag on social media for the 2018 edition of the Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards is #WeHaveGrown.
