MKM FEATURES LIZ JAI ON 'THIS IS LOVE'

Kicking off with a touch of soulful elegance, Duffnote welcome female House player Miss Kelly Marie to the label under her MKM guise. An uplifting slab of dance floor soul, ‘This Is Love’ sees MKM join forces with vocalist Liz Jai, whose silky smooth tones brightly light up this striking heartfelt groover. Also on the package Duffnote’s top tea boy (and label boss), Richard Earnshaw, amps up the F.U.N.K. and injects filtered guitars, an irresistible funky bass groove and a smattering of his signature lush key melodies on a superb remix and instrumental.

Miss Kelly Marie, also known as MKM, is a DJ, producer and creative director of the all-female collective, High on Heels. Hailing from the UK, she possesses an impressive portfolio on the dance music scene embarking on worldwide tours, residencies and headline appearances from the heartland clubs of London to epic concerts in Egypt through to the Baltic Soul Festival in Germany. The unique sound of Miss Kelly Marie is sketched into the very fabric of UK House and Garage and she’s heavily influenced by an upbringing of Latin, Funk, Soul and Disco. As both a solo artist and as part of her MKM Presents project, Miss Kelly Marie’s music has appeared on labels such as Enormous Tunes, Freakin 909, Electric Disco and now she makes her debut on Richard Earnshaw’s Duffnote label.

Born and bred in North London of African and Indian descent, singer/songwriter Liz Jai’s voice oozes class and soul. Her distinctively warm vocal has seen her tour the world as a backing singer, recording and performing with top UK artists Joss Stone, Maverick Sabre, Leona Lewis and Katy B, as well as her part of the Urban Development Vocal Collective (UDVC) working with Labrinth (Syco Music) and Shola Ama. As a writer Liz Jai developed a huge love for House music releasing ‘New Day’ on Tony Records and ‘Lifetime’ with Klevakeys, among others.

Richard Earnshaw is a musician, producer, DJ, remixer, songwriter, co-founder of the iCulture brand and Duffnote, One51, Guess Record labels. His various credits and appearances on Soulfuric, Defected, Large, Salted Music, Purple Music, MoreHouse, Swing City, Peppermint Jam, Hed Kandi, Ministry of Sound, Sony Music, amongst many others have spanned 20 years and counting. As a result of his consistent delivery of quality productions, remixes and solid live performances he has positioned himself amongst some of the most respected producer/DJ’s in the world.
