‘Dj Spin’ has been hard at work in the studio cooking up ‘a storm’ and now he has just served up one ‘banging joint’ titled ‘Ixesha’. ‘Ixesha’ is a Xhosa word which means “time”, and with that track one can say ‘it is his time’.
Dj Spin is a KZN based Afro House Music producer / deejay. As a deejay has ‘set alight’ stages and hangout joints in and around KZN, South Africa and has shared decks with a number of established jocks in those gigs. With that he receives dj slots with national and international radio stations such as ‘Dirty bass FM (United Kingdom), Ukhozi FM, Vuma FM, Gagasi FM, and Radio DUT’.
On the single ‘Ixesha’, Dj Spin features ‘The Golden Lady’ ‘Lizwi Mbatha’, who some have dubbed up as ‘The Tribal Queen’. ‘Lizwi Mbatha’ is no stranger to bringing on the heat when called upon as she has worked with numerous ‘national and international house music producers’ which includes ‘BlackCoffe’s Traveller’. She holds nothing back on ‘Ixesha’ as she completely holds the track down in the best way she knows how and that is ‘from the soul’.
‘Ixesha’ is a catchy ‘Afro House Track’ and definitely has a message within it. This is a perfect example of what happens when you put together a producer who can set any ‘dancefloor alight’ and a vocalist who knows how ‘to play around with words to create perfect harmonies’. The results ‘a dancefloor banger’ which we is bound to be included in a lot of dj sets and radio playlists this festive season. The chorus is a ‘sing along’ one and goes as follows “bolind’ Ixesha lakho” which means ‘patiently wait for your time’ and that is a message to upcoming artists to have ‘patience in the music industry because their time is coming too’. We love the track and can see it doing ‘major damage’ wherever it is played.

His recent offering with ‘Rise Music’ and is titled ‘The Ritual EP’ and it features two of the most ‘amazing Afro House Joints’ and they definitely caught us off guard. The title single is called ‘The Ritual’ and in true ‘Hyenah fashion’, the track has with it the most ‘gripping progression’ with some ‘native chants’ captivating the background perfectly. ‘This one is for keeps’!!!. The second track is titled ‘You Made Me Who I Am’, from start you can feel that there is ‘something brewing’ and the aim was simple ‘fill up the dancefloor’. ‘Hyenah’ perfectly hits the nail on the head with precision on ‘You Made Me Who I Am’ and only he can pull that off. As you can tell, ‘we loving The Ritual EP’ not because it is an ‘Afro House Music Offering’, but it is a ‘Proper Afro House Music Offering’. In his own words ‘’That’s why I do what I do. I want you to come together. I want us to RISE. That’s my mission. It is not about my face. It is about us’’. We agree, definitely it is about us.
