Mncedi Tshicila brings with him a fresh and unique sound, a mix of: Techno, Minimal and African Percussions. Samurai Yasusa’s music influence includes a touch of weird not so well composed beats and a lot of stimulating sounds.
On the DJ booth one can expect all his chronic self-produced jams blended in with carefully selected songs which correlate with what he likes to define as “his sound”. Currently signed to Kenny Dope’s Dopewax Records (USA) and managed by Surreal Sounds Music (ZA), Samurai Yasusa’s sound can be described as a creative indigestion of music; with well thought out, sequenced, engineered and infusion of sounds.
Having released his debut EP titled Kayu (Afro Spirit) EP under Surreal Sounds Music early 2016, Samurai Yasusa has been in the forefront of the music scene as a novice and fresh blood for Surreal Sounds Music with a gradual increase in recognition.
He was later than featured in a prestige Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) compilation “Dopewax Approved: Kenny Dope & Friends” with his Afro song “Absolute”. The compilation also included music by House Music heavyweights such as Kenny Dope, Josh Milan, House Syndicate, Todd Terry and Man Without A Clue. Dopewax Approved went on to “rock” the Traxsource Charts for a solid 2-3 weeks and overall was deemed one of the Top Compilations for 2016.
The end of 2016 saw the release of ‘Samurai Yasusa’s nostalgic Afro song “Noma’s Theme” under MoBlack Records – Organic Wave Compilation, the compilation went on to demolish the Compilation Charts and also Afro Charts on Traxsource. Other discography includes a feature on Red Bull Studios CPT EP, “We Live 4Our Music” with an Afro-feel song named “LHP89”.
You can get his latest offering which is currently burning Traxsource Charts.
