Stones & Bones simply describe themselves as an ‘Afro-Rock Duo’. Which in their own words is ‘a blend of pulsating Afro House Grooves with a touch of Rock and Soul’. Their music is inspired by the collective sounds each member heard while growing up, this ranges from Rock ‘n Roll, Hip Hop, House Music and even traditional South African Funk Music.
This South African producer duo Stones & Bones is made up of Casper Steenkamp aka Casper J Stone and Kgothatso Mohlaka aka KG Bones. They linked up 2010 and since then, they never looked back and kept our bodies and souls dancing to their sound. ‘Masambe’, that is the title of their latest single which is a follow-up of their hit single ‘Amahloni’ where the feature the very talented ‘Toshi’ on vocals.
On ‘Masambe’, Stones & Bones have featured the incredibly talented ‘Mpumi’ and we all know what sort of damage she can cause when given a ‘great beat’. Let’s put it this way, Stones & Bones and Mpumi linked up perfectly on ‘Masambe’. This is just ‘Afro House Music’ at its best and rhythm of this track is just perfect for the dance floor. Loved the saxophone element added on the track as currently there are a few tracks where the saxophone is used. Stones & Bones prove that ‘saxophone is timeless’ and if one needs to take some lessons, well ‘Masambe’ is a great starting point. ‘We are blown away by this track’.
