The 22nd Edition of the DJ Awards has come and gone. This is where the movers and shakers within the vibrant international electronic music scene come together to be honoured for their outstanding efforts and contribution towards the Dance Music Scene.
This year’s DJ Award Ceremony took place for the second year in the avant-garde setting of Heart Ibiza, known for its fantastic fusion of art, entertainment and music. As per usual, this year’s award ceremony was well attended by the cream of the crop when it comes to the electronic music world. This year’s the award ceremony was hosted by DJ Awards winner himself – Graham Sahara and co-hosted by one of the most exciting deejays to break onto the UK scene Jaguar.
The dynamic duo of co-hosts presented 24 awards from the respective 14 award categories which were earlier revealed by the Award Ceremony Organisers. Public participation was encouraged through a voting process where the 120 nominees stood a chance of walking away with one of the coveted Kryptonite awards.
Among the winners were some of the biggest names in dance music, as well as exciting newcomers and tastemakers. One such winner was the South African based Afro House Producer / Deejay Sensation Da Capo. On the night Da Capo walked away with the Best Afro House Award. Other nominees within this category included Culoe De Song, Floyd Levine, Hyenah, Osunaled, AndHim, Super Flu. Other highlights of the award ceremony include Carl Cox who took home International deejay supported by K-array Audio Solutions and with Butch taking the Deep Tech Award which is a new category this year.
