Sho!Mag: What would you say is your biggest achievement to date through your journey in the music industry?
Deep Marvin: Through this journey I’ve had the honour of playing on ‘1kzn TV DJ Mix, urban beat, deeper shades of house’ and also got my debut international gig in Lesotho.
Sho!Mag: In terms of music projects, what is Deep Marvin currently working on? Are the any projects on the pipe line you are working on man?
Deep Marvin: I can’t say much but just watch the space, “When a man has fallen he has no other way to go but up”. I fell and lost but it gave me enough time to put things back into perspective so as to gain more strength and courage and face any challenge.
Sho!Mag: I know you have worked with and have hosted a lot of well-known musicians before. Who would you like to work with in the future and why?
Deep Marvin In terms of hosting the podcast will remain underground and we choose not to depend on bigger names, but would also like to see ‘Lars, Trev the japanese, Kat La Kat, Leo Gunn or Above Smoke’ on our Sessions. In-terms of events, I can only confirm once we are back with hosting them but from the top of my head Jazzuelle is on the list.
Sho!Mag: To close it off, what would you say is the best tip ever, given to you by someone within the music industry and would you say that it has helped you within this industry?
Deep Marvin: QB Smith once said to me, ‘never build your brand based on the crowd’s reaction, but build your brand based on your views and opinions and the crowd should follow your lead’.
