Fresh from being recognised by ‘traxsource’ as the ‘number one Afro House Music producer for 2017’. ‘Enoo Napa’ has had an amazing year, as 2017 was the busiest one of his career to date, where he produced a staggering fifteen remixes and twelve original jams within just eighteen months. That included dance floor bangers such as ‘Uyankenteza (Enoo Napa Vocal Mix)’, ‘Glitch’, ‘Deliverence’, ‘Super Africans’, ‘Giyani’, ‘Pluto’s Calling’, ‘Guanile (Enoo Napa Instrumental Mix)’, ‘Ilanga (Enoo Napa Travellerz Remix)’, ‘North (Enoo Napa Travellerz Mix Voc)’ and a whole lot more chart topping jams.
Siphiwe Mkhize, better known as ‘Enoo Napa’, is a South African born self-taught house music producer / deejay who is signed under ‘Soulistic Music’. Under ‘Black Coffee’s’ mentorship, we have seen this ‘jam of a talent’ grow in leaps and bounds. This year sees ‘Enoo Napa’ open up his ‘dance floor account’ with a smashing EP which is simply titled ‘The Surge’ released through ‘Afrocentric Records’. This offering picks up where ‘Enoo Napa’ left off last year ‘at the top of the Afro House Food Chain’.
‘The Surge’ is a two track Ep and those tracks are ‘The Signature’ and ‘The Surge’. ‘The Signature’ is what ‘Enoo Napa’ is about and what is to be expected from him ‘Clean Yet Hard Hitting Afro Tech House Jams’. He described his sound as ‘it’s just where Africa and Europe meet. The best of both worlds’ when we had a talk with him earlier this year. We are loving ‘the build-up’ provided by ‘The Signature’, where one is kept on the edge throughout ‘this mysterious jam’.
Moving swiftly along to the second track which is titled ‘The Surge’. This jam packs a ‘mean raw sound’ and that is complemented by a proper arrangement of ‘electronic synths’ with a memorable underlying ‘pad like sound’ which provides ‘the perfect dance floor formula’ to the track. ‘Enoo Napa’ has a winner on his hands with ‘The Surge EP’. Our verdict, ‘Can he top his last year’s achievements’? If ‘The Surge EP’ is anything to go by, ‘Enoo Napa certainly look set for the task ahead’.
