‘JayDee SA’ will release a three-track EP titled ‘The Prohibition’ on Wade Deep’s ‘King Six Recordings’ this month. It’s the prolific Pretoria, South African based artist’s first record of 2018, and his fourth studio project overall. This EP will be his first collaboration with ‘King Six Recordings’ as all of his previous three studio projects, were all released under his ‘NNLand Recordings’ label. Influenced by the likes of ‘Detroit Swindle, Alvaro Hylander, David August’, his production style is always experimental, unorthodox yet pleasing to the ear.
The experimentalist feels that this project best represents a sound that isn’t based on a rigid creative process, one which is governed by rules of how a specific genre should sound like, but rather a calculated rule-breaking approach to steer clear from the norm.
The energy and vibes around the EP’s single ‘To The Beat’ has been a massive one in Pretoria’s ‘Deep House Music Scene’ with many Deep House lovers highly anticipating the full project.
